When accountability counts. PrintView^™ for OKI^® Job Accounting Software lets you track productivity and control costs — by logging the printing activity of individual users of workgroups, and assigning cost values to the documents they print. The information PrintView generates can be used for internal usage reports and to charge back expenses.

A network managenment solution ². PrintView uses server-based tools to actually examine print jobs going through the network, capturing details, such as number of pages and page size. Jobs are tracked via client user ID, the same one used to log onto the network. The program enables the network administrator to assign "rights" to printers by user or group: specific users can be restricted to color printing while others can be limited to monochrome printing only. Time and quantity limits can also be set to help control costs.

Flexible O/S support. PrintView software supports any device that emulates PCL^{® 1} or PostScript^® page description languages — which means virtually all OKI color and monchrome printers (except GDI devices). It's at home in any environment running a version of Windows^® 2000, XP or NT^® 4.0. Jobs originating on MAC^®, UNIX^® or other platforms can also be reached when sent throught the PrintView server.

Embracing the bottom line. PrintView has another budgeting advantage: its price is based on five printers per server versus the "per seat" price of competitive programs. The only factor governing the number of users tracked by PrintView is your servers' capacity and your actual print volume.

Easy to install and use. PrintView setup and usage is based on the same type of tools that come with Windows NT Server, and it has an "install wizard" for speedy installation and setup. PrintView provides customizable reports, exportable in Microsoft^® Access^{® 3} format. Among its reports are: number of pages printed by specific device; color versus mono pages; breakdown by page size; pages printed by User ID or Group ID; cost per page; and job identification.
