Important C9600 Safety Recall Information

RE: C9600 SERIES SAFETY RECALL ALERT!
IMMEDIATE ACTION MAY BE REQUIRED

Dear Customer:

Please be advised that Oki Data Americas, Inc., has identified a potential problem with a limited number (approximately 175) of its C9600 Series color printers that could result in an electrical shock. While the chance of an electrical shock is remote, we want to take every precaution to ensure the safety of our customers.

This letter is official notification that you may be in possession of an affected printer and therefore are required to participate in OKI Data Americas’ safety recall program to ensure optimal customer safety and satisfaction.

If you are in possession of one or more C9600 Series printers, please take the following actions-even if your printer(s) appear to be operating normally:

If the serial number falls between any of the three ranges listed above, IMMEDIATE ACTION IS REQUIRED. Please do the following only after the printer has been unplugged from the wall socket:

To avoid any possibility of an electric shock, take the steps outlined on the previous page. Under no circumstances are you to attempt to inspect the printer yourself. This can only be performed by an Oki Data Americas, Inc., authorized service technician.

If the serial number does not match any from the list on the previous page, you do not have an affected printer and no action is required. You may resume normal operation by switching the printer’s power switch to the off position, plugging the printer’s power cord back into the wall socket and then switching the printer’s power switch to the on position.

Please note that OKI Data Americas is cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on this recall.

We feel the measures outlined herein will minimize your inconvenience and ensure your safety and the reliability of your C9600 Series printer.
