Secure Remote Check Printing Description
Secure Remote Check Printing can be used with high-security DataGuard printable media:
1. Graded step-and-repeat pattern— difficult to duplicate
2. Pattern with latent void image— sensitive to photocopying
3. Colored background printed in prismatic inks— makes photocopying virtually impossible
4. Etched blocks surrounding the courtesy amount and check issue date (rendered in a distinctive font style) eliminate the possibility of alteration
5. Barcode in the same dollar amount as the courtesy amount— prevents discrepancies between the written and courtesy amount
6. Heat-sensitive icon— disappears under pressure of a thumb; reappears when thumb is lifted and heat dissipates— ensures authenticity of paper
7. Watermark (on opposite side of the check)— difficult to duplicate

The process, from Central DataGuard Technologies (CDT), employs an encryption method recognized by the Federal government to protect sensitive data files during transmission from corporate headquarters to remote locations. This makes Secure Remote Check Printing ideal for “Check 21” electronic file transfers, as well.
It also secures data files before printing, and verifies and authenticates the recipient through the use of a DataGuard USB I-Key. File data is made available for printing only on the specific dates and times assigned by headquarters.
All that’s required to implement the program and print data files is the DataGuard Office and DataGuard Remote software programs; a corresponding number of DataGuard I-Keys; and CDT bank-safety-paper.
