USER DATA SECURITY

Many OKI products may include, or have available as an option, a separate hard drive or installable memory, to allow for data transfer and storage. Before transferring, recycling or discarding an OKI printer or MFP, please review the instructions provided below by selecting the correct product. It will return instructions relative to these storage devices and indicate necessary steps to safeguard and/or properly destroy sensitive data that may be stored on them.

EQUIPMENT RECYCLING

Proper maintenance and disposal of computer hardware upon lifecycle completion will be safeguarded. All qualified hardware is disposed of in accordance with U.S. federal and state regulations.

To assist and understand the proper disposal of computer hardware and participate in our environmental efforts, please see below. OKI provides helpful information to consumers living in states that mandate manufacturer participation in a collection/recycling program. A list of the specific states in which OKI participates in is available upon request. If you are unsure of the recycling/disposal guidelines or requirements for your region, please contact your local municipality for details.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERY RECYCLING

Disposing of rechargeable batteries using curb-side solid waste pickup service is bad for the environment. Some states and municipalities, such as (but not limited to) the State of New York, have passed extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws that require manufacturers, distributors, or retailers to collect and properly dispose of or recycle rechargeable batteries without cost to our customers.

State or local laws may require that you properly handle the disposal of rechargeable batteries when:

Replacing a worn battery with a new one

Disposing of or recycling your equipment, requiring you to remove the battery first and handling it's disposal separately from the equipment

Some of Oki Data's printers are powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack. These batteries should exhibit an RBRC recycling logo either on an adhesive label or printed directly on the battery pack. The label (see example below) provides a toll-free number to help you locate battery drop-off locations in your area.

TONER RECYCLING

Please follow the instructions below to return your printer toner cartridges or rechargeable battery.

OKI will not accept return of non-OKI cartridges or batteries for recycling. The return label can only be used for the return of OKI cartridges and batteries included in the program.

Step 1. Pack up used consumable or battery
For toner, remove the used cartridge from the printer and SEAL IT in the same bag the new OKI cartridge came in. Place the used cartridge into the protective cushions if present. Be sure to use only one bag and box with each cartridge to prevent damage during transit. Tape the box closed.

Attention:
When returning an empty cartridge, it is extremely important to seal the plastic bag in which the cartridge is placed. Please check to see that this step is completed prior to sealing the box. For questions, please call 1-800-OKIDATA.

Step 2. Prepare a Return Label
A separate, unique label will need to be created for each toner that is to be returned. This process will need to be repeated in order to create multiple labels.

Please provide the following information to create the return label:

First and last name
Company
Address 1
Address 2
City
State
Zip Code
Select Toner Type

Toner Serial Number

To receive a copy of the label by e-mail, enter your e-mail address

Step 3. Return Package
After printing the label and affixing it to the package, take it to your nearest drop-off location. Your nearest drop-off location can be found by using the drop locator while filling out the return label.

Step 4 (OPTIONAL). Order new toner
Order your replacement toner by selecting from the list below. Hold down the "CTRL" key and select for multiple items. Alternatively, go to our dealer locator to find a dealer near you.
