Feature	Description	Security Aspect

Secure Print	Stores document to print on the printer’s Hard Disk Drive (HDD). When a 4-digit, user-defined password is entered on the printer’s front panel, the document prints. Document is not retained after it is printed/accessed.	Document stored in password-protected location (cannot be retrieved from client PCs). Authorized user must be physically at the printer to initiate printing of the document. Only originator, prints/picks up the target document.

Document Storage Options NOTE: All other document printing methods are “volatile” (i.e. data is not retained after printing)	1. Secure Print—as outlined above 2. Proof/Print—print one copy, additional copies are printed when specified user enters password 3. Store Document—print job is stored on HDD and can be repetitively accessed via password	Available only on Digital Color models with a HDD. Only originator can print/pick up target documents at the printer (not stored at PC). Normal printing conditions utilize volatile memory exclusively (see note at left). HDD is not used for spooling functions, so data is always cleared from system upon printing.

OKI®Job Accounting Software	Administrator-controlled application that registers each print job and provides accurate accounting of all printer access. Pop-up prompt requires PIN ID before print job is sent to the printer.	All document activity can be tracked by user. Time-stamped records can be accessed by administrator as often as required. Pin ID for each user ensures that only specific users print and that specific jobs are tied to these users.

Printer Jam Recovery Disable	Disabling of feature that allows reprinting of pages involved in a printer jam.	Minimizes the risk of printing un-recorded duplicate copies. Higher level of security achieved by requiring users to transmit a document a second time in the event of a printer jam.

Random Access Memory	All print jobs are temporarily stored in RAM (not Flash memory ) while received and during processing. Once job finishes printing, the contents of RAM are emptied.	All print jobs are deleted once they are processed and cannot be recovered. If the power is cycled on/off while a job is in RAM, the job is deleted.

Network Operator Panel Lockout	Administrator (with password-controlled access) can lock down printer panel to prevent local changes and unauthorized access.	Administrators concerned with users changing configuration/network settings can disable users’ access to the printer.

Network IP Security (IP Address Filtering) Support	Access to printer (for changing configurations and for printing) can be limited to specific PCs or ranges of PCs.	Small set of specified users on the network can be defined/controlled by PC’s network address; limits the number of people who can actually print to a specific device.

Disables for All Unused Protocols and Open Network Ports	Access via ftp, telnet, SNMP, http, IPP, TPC/IP, IPX, EtherTalk®, DLC can be disabled, if not required for network printing. All products support disable of main network protocols.	Prevents unauthorized access to printer and print server. External DOS attacks (i.e. hacking) reduced by closing open/unused network ports.
