OKI Data Americas Announces New PH640 Series of Hybrid POS Receipt Printers

Affordable, functional and user-friendly PH640 Series provides industry leading features and reliability for unique business requirements
OKI Data Americas, which markets its products under the OKI® Printing Solutions brand today announced the launch of the PH640 Series of hybrid POS receipt printers. The versatile series provides end users with a compact, multi-station POS printer that brings high productivity, media flexibility and reliability for demanding applications. Designed to meet the growing need for smaller, faster, multifunction POS printers, the PH640 Series is ideal for the retail point of service, supermarket, restaurant, hospitality and banking industries.
A hybrid of direct thermal-dot matrix technologies, the PH640 Series has unmatched print speeds of 250 mm per second for the thermal receipt printer, with a resolution of 203 dpi1. Equipped with or without MICR-reading technology, these machines make it quick and easy to validate and endorse checks with a feed rate of 4.82 LPS (40 columns). The PH640 Series models print on thermal paper and thermal labels up to 80 mm wide, as well as cut sheets and multi-part forms at widths up to 9” (22.9 cm) and thickness to 0.31 mm (original + 3 copies). In addition to superior media handling, the printers offer double resolution mode to assure the best print quality of logos and graphics, 2-color capability, and 2-D barcode (PDF417) printing. The PH640 Series was designed to maximize uptime and reduce user interventions through long-life print heads, cutters, ribbon and media rolls that are easily replaced.

Shipment comes standard with installation CD, interface cover, power switch cover, paper guide, ribbon, thermal paper roll and ferrite core. An external power supply is required and available separately. At a starting list price of $583, the PH640 Series is available in the United States and Canada.
