OKI Data Americas Helps K-12 Affordably Bring Color into the Classroom at the 30th Annual Texas Computer Education Association Conference & Exposition

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., February 10, 2010

OKI Data Americas showcased products and solutions tailored for the education environment to help schools save money and better manage print fleets without sacrificing quality

OKI Data Americas, which markets its products under the OKI Printing Solutions brand, attended the 30th Annual Texas Computer Education Association Convention & Expo (TCEA) in Austin, TX., showcasing products and solutions that help K-12 administrators' maximize technology budgets and achieve a lower total cost of ownership. OKI Printing Solutions displayed color and monochrome printers and multifunction products (MFP) that provide high-value, low-cost print solutions that are pioneered for the education market.

A wide array of OKI Printing Solutions products were on exhibit at booth (#1451), including the C830dn, C6150n and the MB470. In addition, the booth featured Color Access Policy Manager, which allows schools to have more control over color printing and the School Communications Pack DVD, providing hundreds of predesigned educational templates for various subjects.

"We understand the importance of color in the classroom, and take into account school IT budgets and educational needs when designing products for our K-12 customers." said Bernadette Carey, Industry Marketing Manager at OKI Data Americas. "Schools are looking to reduce their IT budgets without sacrificing color quality, and OKI Printing Solutions can help them better manage their print fleet, identify hidden cost saving opportunities and really maximize their budgets to provide superior educational value to their students."

Now more than ever, schools are focusing on maximizing every dollar to improve the quality of education, and color printing is one proven way to enhance educational value. Studies have shown the vast impact of using color in the classroom, which helps to increase students' learning by as much as 78%, while also increasing their willingness to read and participate by up to 80%ii. By using color instead of using black-and-white printouts, students' comprehension can be increased by 73%, enabling teachers to deliver lessons their students will better retainii.

Understanding the impact color has on students' education, OKI Printing Solutions designed high-value, low-cost print solutions that allow educators to enhance learning through the use of color in the classroom.

OKI Printing Solutions also showcased the new MB470, which features all-in-one (AIO) functionality, combining black and white printing and copying, color/mono scanning and scan-to capabilities allowing schools to optimize classroom and office space and save costs. School administrators can easily print, copy, scan and fax from one compact device with the capability to easily convert hard-copy documents into electronic documents for convenient sharing and archiving.

To further emphasize OKI Printing Solutions commitment to helping schools save money on printing costs, the company expanded Total Managed Print&trade, a comprehensive managed print services solution which enables schools to reduce costs associated with printing through device consolidation or redeployment. Total Managed Print includes a robust methodology to help better understand a school's true printing needs and habits while identifying potential savings, continuous improvement and long-term productivity. Schools have already been realizing the benefits, saving over $300,000 a year on print costs2 .

All OKI Printing Solutions products are built on parent company OKI Data Corporation's history of leadership and innovation in color printing, such as digital LED technology and Single Pass Color&trade. This technology allows OKI Data Americas to manufacture products that require fewer moving parts for increased reliability.

OKI Printing Solutions provides live3 , toll-free technical support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with agents based in North America.
