The employees of OKI Data Americas, a leading printer manufacturer, are proud to support the Lean on Me Breast Cancer Network Second Annual 5K Walk and Talk Community Event on Saturday, September 27th at Bethpage State Park, New York. Registrations will be accepted up until 10:00am on the day of the event and are divided into individual enrollments or groups of 3 or more. The walk begins at 11:00am and will take place on the beautifully paved paths within Bethpage State Park.
On behalf of the Color Me OKI (www.colormeoki.com) program, the “Twin Sister” 1955 Pink Cadillac will be on display as a Tribute Artist performs at the event from 10:00am – 3:00pm, while commemorative group photos are provided to all attendees in keepsake frames. The restored Cadillac symbolizes the process women must go through when rebuilding their mind, body and souls after battling breast cancer.
The Lean On Me Breast Cancer Network Inc. was initially established as a New York State non-profit organization in May 2000 by Dr. Dwight De Risi, Donna De Risi, Sharon Pape, Ursula Thall and Gerry Accardo. Its goal is to provide one-on-one peer support for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer by pairing them with volunteer survivors from an individual physician’s practice.
To date, the Lean On Me peer support program has trained over 80 volunteers and has helped thousands of patients. Patients and their families now have access to a comprehensive set of resources, free of charge, in order to manage their diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The network also hosts a weekly support group nine months out of the year, biannual education updates, patient information kits, as well as free wig and post-surgical bra and prosthesis fittings.
“OKI Data Americas is proud to support the Lean On Me Breast Cancer Network for a second year. It is our goal to promote this wonderful network of peer supporters who provide hope to so many breast cancer patients across New York state,” said Stewart Krentzman, President and CEO of OKI Data Americas. “The passion and dedication the employees and I have for this cause is evident through our Color Me OKI program and driven by our commitment to support those fighting the disease.”
The Color Me OKI philanthropic program uniquely pairs vintage cars with live entertainment to help support and celebrate the strong women, family and friends who are fighting breast cancer. The personal program stays true to the company’s passion for customer intimacy, which it does by engaging with customers on a one-on-one basis to understand their needs. OKI Data Americas (www.okidata.com), one of the leading printer manufacturers in the U.S., goes beyond traditional service to develop long term partnerships with each customer and make them feel like customers again.
The program supports the corporate philanthropic mission of Oki Electric Industry Company, Ltd., the Tokyo, Japan-based parent company of OKI Data Corporation, which is to undertake social contribution activities that help realize the genuine enrichment of society and contribute to the quality of life for people around the world.

About the Color Me OKI Philanthropic Program
The Color Me OKI philanthropic program was launched in April of 2007 after the employees of OKI Data Americas voted to adopt breast cancer as the company’s leading philanthropic cause. The backbone of the program is the “Twin Sister,” a 1955 Pink Cadillac Fleetwood that was personally restored by the company’s CEO, Stewart Krentzman and his wife Bonnie. OKI Data Americas decided to pair the vintage vehicle with a Tribute Artist and took the program on the road supporting 21 breast cancer events, while taking photos of attendees and printing them on its digital color printers. This year, the “Twin Sister” is joined by the 1950's Automotive Classic, the 1959 Pink Cadillac Series 62 Convertible, which has also been restored to support the fight against breast cancer. In 2008 the Color Me OKI philanthropic program is also supporting colorectal cancer prevention. The program is taking the one-of-a-kind 1992 “Spirit of America” neoclassic Corsair to colorectal cancer events in order to raise awareness of such a highly preventable disease. The Color Me OKI philanthropic program, using all three cars, which are owned and maintained by Stewart and Bonnie Krentzman, will continue to spread the message of hope and inspiration to those fighting both breast and colorectal cancers in 2008.
