In-store banners pack a powerful merchandising punch while serving many purposes. They help to "boutique" and organize your store. They attract attention to specials. And they actively engage the customer in decision-making at the point-of-purchase.
Using this template, you can easily create colorful banners to promote specials daily - even hourly, if necessary!

Readability The height of the text in the banner will determine the distance from which it can be read. A quick rule of thumb is that a banner like ours that is is 8.5" tall and 35.4" wide will catch the eye of people with normal vision from 15 to 20 feet away. By limiting the lines of text to only three, we keep the height of the main message text to no less than 3", which can typically be read by people with normal vision from a distance of 10 to 15 feet.
Microsoft Powerpoint tools, you can change colors and even add an outline or drop shadow to your main message text. Our template makes it easy for you to experiment so you can test various colors and messages, and determine what works best for you.
Fonts The font you use is very important, too. For maximum readability, you can't go wrong if you stick with a bold sans serif typeface. You also want to avoid combining many different typefaces on one banner. In our grocery store template, we've used the Futura family of typefaces. In our aniversary banner; we've used the Garamond family. Another excellent typeface for banners is Arial Bold or Black.
A grocery store is often judged by the quality and presentation of its fresh produce. To make a great impression on your customers, use a banner to pull them to an important area of your store. You'll want to frequently change your special offers to encourage repeat visits while moving a variety of merchandise throughout your store.
Clip Art Add clip art to illustrate your banner so that customers can see, at a glance, the special merchandise that's being offered even before they read the banner. Clip art is available from many sources on CD and on the Internet - and much of it is free.
Color Color is important. Bright, warm colors - such as red, orange and yellow - are synonymous with the word "sale" in retail establishments. Red and orange with white text or a white background provide high-contrast combinations that are proven to increase visibility. With our template and your
Banners for Special Occasions You can use this template to create banners for purposes other than selling: Change the message to announce a birth, celebrate a birthday or recognize any special occasion. Your friends and family will feel honored that you cared enough to personalize a banner just for them. And, don't forget to add an extra-special or humorous touch with clip art that reflects their hobbies, interests or personality.
