OKI Printing Solutions is currently in the process of finalizing support for its range of products for Apple’s OS X.6 Snow Leopard operating system. During this time, full-featured printing with OKI Printing Solutions drivers can still be achieved by following the instructions below.

For PostScript Drivers
Current OKI Printing Solutions Mac OS X.5 PostScript drivers can be used within Snow Leopard by performing the following procedure:

  1. If you have not already done so, install the OS X.5 printer driver first
  2. Install Rosetta if/when prompted. Since Rosetta is no longer included by default in Snow Leopard, you may be prompted to install it in the process of installing a driver or utility. Rosetta will install automatically from the web (when needed) or is also available from the Snow Leopard DVD by locating the "Optional Installs" folder and launching "Optional Installs.mpkg"
  3. Download the OKI PostScript Filter Updater utility here, or from the driver support section of the OKI Data website.

  4. For the following models CX3641 MFP, C9850, (download this version.)

  5. Run the PostScript Filter Updater utility
  6. Add the printer driver.
If you have installed the driver and are operating in 64-bit mode you will notice that some features in the driver are not available. 64-bit features not available
You may take advantage of all the driver’s print features by opening the application in 32-bit mode by following this procedure:
  1. Quit the application
  2. Open the Applications folder (or the folder where the app is stored)
  3. Select the Application icon and choose File / Get Info
  4. Select the option: "Open in 32-bit mode"
  5. Close the Get Info window
  6. Launch the application and the driver features will be available
32-bit - features now available
Notice that the print driver options are now available. OS 10.5 limitations
For GDI / Raster Drivers
Similar feature limitations exist when OS 10.5 raster drivers are used in 64-bit applications in Snow Leopard.
Features available now in 32-bit
As mentioned in the previous section, switch the application to run in 32-bit mode to take full advantage of all the features in the driver.

The following list indicates compatibility with OS X.6 after the aforementioned procedure has been performed.
